It has been 2 days since AMD launched their new card, the RX 480, but to spoil AMD’s fun NVIDIA has announced their new card, the GTX 1060. AMD faced numerous leaks – most of them true – and now GTX 1060’s specifications have also been leaked.
Here are the leaked specifications:
|NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060|
|Graphics Processing Unit||Pascal GP106|
|Fabrication Process||16nm FinFET|
|Boost Clock||~1700 MHz|
|Max. Compute Performance||~4.4 TFLOPs|
|Memory Configuration||6GB GDDR5|
|Memory Speed||2000 MHz|
|Memory Bandwidth||192 GB/s|
|Launch Date||July 2016|
According to leaked slides obtained by VideoCardz, Nvidia’s GP106-based graphics card will pack 1280 CUDA cores, a 192-bit memory interface, a GPU boost clock of 1700MHz, and comes in VRAM variations of 3GB and 6GB, but it’s worth mentioning that one of the sources says it’s configured with 4GB and 8GB, similar to AMD’s Radeon RX 480. This makes sense, as the GTX 1060 is assumed to be Nvidia’s RX 480-killer in the mainstream marketplace. I believe Nvidia will aggressively compete with AMD when it comes to budget.
Here is the leaked slide:
GTX 1060 will launch in July and it’s rumored that it may release on 7th of July via Livestream. So guys what do you think who will win this battle: The Red Team or The Green Team?
