A More ‘technically developed’ Final Fantasy XV Is Being Considered for PC

In a recent interview given by video game director for Square Enix, Hajima Tabata, he has indeed confirmed that a Final Fantasy XV is in consideration for the PC. Along with the said disclosure, he also hinted towards it being more ‘technically developed’ than its console counterpart and it being a ‘very different project’ if possible.

The translation of his interview given in French is as follows:
“I’m quite positive about the idea of developing a PC version, but I would like to make a very different project if possible. The reason I’m interested is that a PC version would propel the game to another technical level. I have in mind a version of Final Fantasy XV that is more technically developed. This version could incorporate things that we were forced to abandon because of the limitations of home consoles. With the PC, this would be an opportunity to release a version far superior in terms of quality and tech. That said, if we choose to develop this project, the development will start from scratch by doing research of what would be the best technology to use. It might not be a simple port of the console version.”

It is interesting to see a game developer confessing to their plans of a possibility of their game being on another platform that would prove to be technically superior than its scheduled platform just before its release on their console focused development. And would anyone considering to fund such a remake of an entire game on another platform post-release of it on their schedueld platform is anyone’s guess. What do you take from this development?
