NieR: Automata hasn’t received it’s promised patch for half a yearSeptember 6, 2017
NieR: Automata is one of the best games of 2017 but it has several bugs which makes the game literally unplayable. So, to take control of the situation in June, Square Enix claimed they were working with Nvidia and AMD in order to release a patch.
Two months passed and the only update we received was not even a proper patch. Both AMD and NVIDIA received a driver update on July which resolved an issue where the screen could turn white during gameplay and along with some other issues such as random hangs or game crashes after short periods of gameplay.
This update didn’t fix the games performance issues, we didn’t even receive an official fix for the resolution issue. The game’s keyboard + mouse scheme is still broken, and the developers didn’t even think it was important to look after bugs that were reported by the community.
Still, we enjoy the game thanks to the FAR mod from Kaldaien. This mod has fixed the resolution scaling issues and the cutscene stuttering bug. To be honest, NieR: Automata would have been a mediocre game without this mod.
In conclusion, we can state that Square Enix has left Nier: Automata PC to its destiny.
