Since it’s announcement in 2014, When Microsoft took over the Rights of Epic Games, and gave it’s subsidiary studio, The Coalition, the job to develop the 4th Edition of the famous Gears of War series for Xbox One, gamers are pretty much excited to play this title given the success of it’s predecessors, in both storyline, and beating up bad guys.
The former Director of Production at Epic Games on the Gears of War franchise, Rod Fergusson joined Microsoft as the studio Head of The Coalition, thus playing a role at The Coalition on the development of the franchise going forward. In the last issue of the Official Xbox Magazine US, Fergusson gave some important information regarding the development of the latest installment of the series, the Gears of War 4, which is set to release this year. Fergusson made it clear that one of the targets of the development team of the game, is to give to fans the essence of previous Gears of War titles, while also adding some new elements to the franchise, and also overhauling the graphics as much as possible while keeping a decent performance.
“Delivering [with Ultimate Edition] the first 60 fps multiplayer experience in franchise history really taught us a lot about what it means to have a 60 fps culture on the team and we’re leveraging that experience for Gears of War 4.”, said Fergusson. Moreover, the results yielded by Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One made Fergusson say that he intends to show the best graphics possible for the Xbox One. “Like how the original Gears of War was a visual showcase for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 4 will be a graphical showcase for the Xbox One.”, he said.
