Disney+ Plans Revealed at D23 2019


Disney just blew our minds at the Disney+ panel of D23 2019.

Disney Plus, the streaming service by the multimedia giant Disney, has revealed several of its plans for the future, making us fans even more excited for the future. 

Disney+ details

  1. It will launch on 12th November for $6.99 (₹500) in the United States with global expansion throughout 2020-2021.
  2. It will include more than 500 films and over 7500 series episodes at launch, with a mixture of original Disney+ and other Disney owned studios production.
  3. Disney+ will have 4k and 4 simultaneous streaming at the base and only price.
  4. It will have a separate application for iOS, Apple TV, Android, Roku, Playstation and Xbox with potential support for macOS, WIndows10, Fire TV, WebOS, and other smart devices coming soon.

Walt Disney Studios 

  1. A new Phineas and Ferb movie “Candace against the Universe.”
  2. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is coming to Disney+
  3. A new “Lizzie McGuire” show will be coming to Disney+.

Pixar Studios

  1. “Forky Asks a Question” is a new collection of shorts starring Tony Hale as the voice of Forky.
  2. “Monsters at Works” starring Ben Feldman and Aisha Tyler will look back when Monsters Inc. switched to laughter.

Marvel Studios

  1. In Marvel “What IF?” Peggy Carter becomes Captain Carter and uses a Union Jack shield.
  2. Marvel “Falcon and Winter Soldier” will bring back Sharon Carter and introduce John Walker played by Wyatt Russell. The series will look into past, present and post Endgame.
  3. Marvel ” WandaVision” is going to be half sitcom and half epic MCU adventure with Vives of Dick Van Dyke sitcom. Kat Dennings’s “D’arcy Lewis” and Randall Park’s ” Agent Jimmy Woo” will join “Monica Rambeau and the noisy neighbor played by Kathryn Hahn.
  4. Marvel “Ms. Marvel” will introduce us to Kamala Khan.
  5. Marvel “MoonKnight” will be coming to Disney+.
  6. Marvel “She-Hulk” is the first live-action MCU Hulk project since “the Incredible Hulk” (2008).

Lucasfilm Studios

  1. The eras are renamed as “Age of Republic”, “Age of Rebellion” and “Age of Resistance”.
  2. Clone Wars will Premiere in February 2020.
  3. “The Mandalorian” drops its trailer.
  4. Ewan McGregor will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in his own Disney+ series.

With its vast library of interesting content and extremely competitive prices, Disney+ is a genuine threat to Netflix‘s dominance over streaming services.
