NVIDIA GTX 1060 Specifications Leaked

NVIDIA GTX 1060 Specifications Leaked

It has been 2 days since AMD launched their new card, the RX 480, but to spoil AMD’s fun NVIDIA has announced their new card, the GTX 1060. AMD faced numerous leaks – most of them true –  and now GTX 1060’s specifications have also been leaked.

Here are the leaked specifications:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Graphics Processing Unit Pascal GP106
Fabrication Process 16nm FinFET
Unified Cores 1280
TMUs 80
ROPs ?
Base Clock ?
Boost Clock ~1700 MHz
Max. Compute Performance ~4.4 TFLOPs
Memory Configuration 6GB GDDR5
Bus Interface 192-bit
Memory Speed 2000 MHz
Memory Bandwidth 192 GB/s
TDP 120W
Launch Date July 2016
Launch Price ?

According to leaked slides obtained by VideoCardz, Nvidia’s GP106-based graphics card will pack 1280 CUDA cores, a 192-bit memory interface, a GPU boost clock of 1700MHz, and comes in VRAM variations of 3GB and 6GB, but it’s worth mentioning that one of the sources says it’s configured with 4GB and 8GB, similar to AMD’s Radeon RX 480. This makes sense, as the GTX 1060 is assumed to be Nvidia’s RX 480-killer in the mainstream marketplace. I believe Nvidia will aggressively compete with AMD when it comes to budget.

There was also a leaked slide which shows that GTX performs a lot better than RX 480 in both standards gaming and Virtual Reality.

Here is the leaked slide:

GTX 1060 will launch in July and it’s rumored that it may release on 7th of July via Livestream. So guys what do you think who will win this battle: The Red Team or The Green Team?

Stay tuned to Asidcast for more news on GTX 1060.

the 960 was crap and so this will be as well and lol at those specs.

    gtx 1060/ rx 480

    4.4 TFLOPs/ 5.5 TFLOPs winner amd

    6gb vram/ 4/8gb vram winner amd

    192-bit/ 256-bit winner amd

    1280 cores/ 2304 stream processors winner amd

1700 boost clock/ 1266 boost clock winner nvidia but u can over clock rx 480 to 1600

winner rx 480 this gtx 1060 is crap like the 960 but the bias media will spin its better and put out fake benchmarks.

You’re a negative nancy aren’t you? The problem with AMD has never been their hardware, but rather their terrible driver support. Even with the best hardware, your card will fail if it can’t run the latest games because of shitty drivers.

      • Hvd

dx12 has changed that and the longer nvidia waits to add async compute it just gives amd more time to pull further ahead in dx12.

        • Dave Ferrara

All 13 DX12 games? Uh oh… Nvidia’s in BIG trouble.

        • nismo370z

          youre an idiot.

      • Austin Alexander

AMD hasn’t had terrible drivers in several years. Nvidia has been the one that have gotten the most news stories about broken ‘Game-Ready’ drivers.

    • Jon Jones.

      Grow up.

      • Hvd

        the truth hurts.

        • Jon Jones.

The 1060 isn’t even out yet. The so called specs are not official, they might not even be real.

But the point is competition is good. The 480 is a good card, and I hope the 1060 is also a good card. Stop being such a fanboy idiot.

          • Hvd

all im saying was the 960 was junk thats why i got a r9 380x a few months ago and its been working great for me.if you buy nvidia go 1070 and 1080 avoid the lower cadrs amd is much better there.

          • Dave Ferrara

Again, the 1060 isn’t out yet, so stop talking like you already know it’s inferior to the hot running, poorly overclocking, mobo-frying 480 LOL

          • Hvd

well keep your hops up i guess…lol

          • Jon Jones.

Hopefully the Red Team will fix that with software updates.

    • nismo370z

      youre an idiot

    • Ivan Rošić

well y i know about that besiclly he removed AA and Gamewrok cos amd gpu’s sucks in it and that nothing new

      • Hvd

he had hbao+ on it kills amd cards and it was on only in dx12 titles.its not hard to see it..lol

  • Dewpa

Um that comparison slide is a “satire” piece that popped up on reddit when the 1060 rumors started. Its not from nvidia and its based on absolutely nothing.
That being said the numbers arent unrealistic, but its definitely not anything official coming from nvidia.
Im surprised Videocardz went along with that pic…

    • Preston Turner

      Got a source on that?

  • PixelOmen

Slower compute performance and less memory bandwidth, doesn’t seem like much of a RX 480 killer to me. I guess we’ll have to wait for the benchmarks and see.

  • bluedemonde

If this card is 300 or more then it already failed and missed the mark. In order for nvidia to compete in price/performance to the 480 it needs to
See for around the same price. Which it most likely won’t.

    • Dave Ferrara

And if it IS the same price?

      • bluedemonde

Then I’ll be damned and I’ll be moving to nvidia if it is better 🙂

        • bluedemonde

Plus the specs are only speculation from the 1060 right now, the only facts we have are that the 480 is a beast for $200.

          • Dave Ferrara

Things are going to get verrry interesting in the next 5 days!

          • bluedemonde

            Yea. I’m trying to sell my R9 270x 2gb for $100, if y’all
Know anyone in Cali, around the SGv area that needs something good at $100

  • Jason Mounce

That slide is holy garbage of worthlessness.

So ‘480’ is at 1.0 and Nvidia is at 1.15 and 1.25 and 1.45. They manipuate the graph as best they can to make it look like a huge difference – and yet, what the fuck are even these 0.15, 0.25 and 0.45% numerical differences? It’s not in FPS? It’s not in known benchmarking software.

Anyone care to elaborate? Seems like typical nvidia Smokes and mirrors.

    • DecimationPro

Also 4.4 TFlops almost never is faster then 5.8 and unless the memory bus is 10x better then the GTX 960 it will be limited to about the same frame rate as the 3 GB card.

  • Jay Santos

    480 is destroying motherboards.
    Runs uber hot.
    Can’t beat a 970.
14nm die runs hot at stock speeds.
Dies the moment you try to over clock.

    AMD is dead.
