Yes, you read that figure right. Beating last year’s record donation of $1,216,304 which was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, this year also saw 177 speed-runs, 83 prizes distributed, 86 bids and a total of 22,837 donors. It as always was amazing to see this initiative attract almost over a hundred thousand viewers, even with the CS: GO Majors going on. (Awesome Games Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick are two annual video game speedrun charity marathons held in the United States, managed by the communities at Speed Demos Archive and Speedruns Live. Held since 2010, the events have raised money for several charities; the most common two being the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. The events are broadcast live on Twitch.
