The Crew is a game that hasn’t been making a lot of headlines lately, but I was interested from the time it was unveiled at E3 2013. It’s massive open world racing game with multiplayer focus from what I can remember. And when I say massive, it’s not even the tiniest bit of exaggeration because the game is so big, a coast to coast race (if you stick to the road) will take about one and a half hour long.
“A coast to coast race in the game, in a high-speed performance car, sticking to the roads is about an hour and a half, but if you want to go off-road, it’s about two hours and a half.”
This instantly blew my mind because holy crap, are we finally getting some sort of marathon game?
Julian Gerighty, the creative director of The Crew, said that there’s a race for maniacs as well which’ll take about 4 hours to complete…
“We have one race, which is just for those maniacs, it’s not on the main path or anything. It goes around the circumference of the country and it’s a four hour race,” Gerighty said.
A four hour long race seems like a hell lot of fun if you ask me and on other news, my psychiatrist confirmed that I’m a maniac. Honestly though, if the map is as big as Gerighty claims and hopefully it’s diverse as well, this could be the digital car race everyone talks about.
The Crew doesn’t have an ETA as of yet, but Ubisoft claims that the game is definitely coming out on 2014 (Hopefully there’s no delays with this one) and on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
