Plot Summary: Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. At that moment, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they got along well with each other. On their way to find a way to their location, there appeared in front of the two, a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl then whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him, congratulating on his first day as a freshman and left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children they had promised to marry each other one day, fulfilling their dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the examination for this well known private college, but now she showed up in the  freshman orientation hall. She too had taken the law school entrance examination, catching up with him there.

Review: Romantic Comedy, the genre which has been trending quit a lot in the past decade in the world of anime has given us one of those greatest hits like School Rumble, Ouran High School Host Club, Love Hina etc. I have noted that most of the anime that have been airing recently fall under the genre Romantic Comedy and Seinen, of which most of them are simple  romcom. This makes me think twice before trying a new anime because of what I’ve seen, most of them are way too similar to each other and keep on dragging the story without any actual story line. But luckily, this season I came across this anime. Although hearing the title of the anime  “Golden Time” would make no sense at the initial point but having watched the first 12 episodes of this anime, I can now understand the reason behind the title. This show started off as a simple romcom with a love triangle, but the show quickly changed its tone from a comedy, into a true drama. Due to character backstories, along with the general instability of many of the characters, there is a lot of drama to be dealt with, and there have already been numerous moments that can hit you hard. Having 24 episodes just shocks me, because honestly, so much has already  happened in the first 9 episodes  that I couldn’t even try to guess what is coming next.  Based on the first 12 episodes that have been aired I would rate this anime 8/10.

Conclusion:  I would totally recommend this anime as it has got everything in it, for like, first few episodes focuses on a guy who has arrived to a new city and makes new friends and everything seems happy go lucky, with a comedic tone to it. And as the story progresses we come to know about the character backgrounds and from then the story gets deeper. This is in fact one of the best anime of this season.
